The California Oil Museum, housed in the original 1890s headquarters of the Union Oil Company, offers a look back at the history, commerce, and culture of the area while exploring Earth science and the future of energy.
Throughout the Museum you will find interactive displays, artifacts, photographs, videos, memorabilia, and an authentic working 19th century drilling rig. The Museum also offers exciting rotating exhibits throughout the year focusing on science, energy, and history. The Energy Education Lab, which focuses on alternative energy and earth science, offers fun and educational STEM activities for all ages.

The Museum is supported by the annual memberships of individuals, families, businesses, foundations, non-profits, trade associations, community groups, and private organizations. Become a member today!
Museum Docents volunteer their time to serve in a wide variety of positions at the Museum. There is a volunteer opportunity available now in your area of interest!
